Might be lucky in court if you plead guilty with mitigation :

Wear suit and tie, get letter from current (main) employer saying how you need your licence for work, or you would become unemployed, dont wear jewellery or gel your hair, look timid and ashamed. Get the duty sol to plead your case, explain how in the current credit climate you were trying to earn a few extra ££. Ensure you now have business insurance, and take certificate with you.

With a lenient magistrate you may get 6 points and fine but no retest.

I did the same years ago, but got a friendly warning from a local bobby - if i see you delivering again i will be checking your insurance so make sure its in order - i promptly got it added.

I am a cop and I deal with the lads in my town as i was dealt with - I want to see your business cover if i see you with a pizza/kebab/chinese delivery in your car. i explain the consequences ie car seized, 6 points, £200 fine. Not had one yet who hasn't got the cover.

Might seem harsh but if one has an accident while on delviery, they are not insured, and insurance will NOT pay out, and if anyone is injured, police will prosecute regardless.
