Bell insurance. Insure summit like a 1.0L micra and pay an extra £150 to drive an other car 3rd party, buy sumthing you wouldnt normally be able to insure, get your mum or dad to insure it on their policy and you pay the difference (£100-£200 max) then you can drive your normally unisurable car legally!

And if you crash you wont get a payout for the car

I'd hope that most people wouldn't intend on crashing though.

True but when im currently within thin £1500 - £2500 car bracket, not getting a pay out for a car wouldnt be the biggest blow, happened with my first corsa, just got to get over it lol

If the car is registered in your name then you'd be lucky if they paid out at all, or if they didn't cancel your policy after they realise that you're blatantly going to be the main driver.
I'm with Flux, tried Brentacre but they said "it's going to be over £1400, have you tried anywhere else?" I said yeah, got a quote from Flux for however much, she said "go with them then, that's a good deal"

3k for a corsa gsi with adrian flux.
i paid just under 1k fully comp with them for a 1.6sport around your age. but suppose its all about personal circumstances etc
Quinn-direct are very cheap for the younger drivers..

Ahwell didnt know, they used to do it for only £40 a year and i was going to get it but when i insured my car in june this year had a look and they bumped it up to £150 so i was so keen on that, mustof scrapped the idea all together.
