think I just got nicked for speeding...
was a 50 limit dual carriageway.
There's this really cool bit where it turns sharply downwards, under a bridge and up the other side... I always gun it through it as it's a laugh.
Today I came out the other side of the dip to see a police van on the side pointing all its cameras at me, I looked down and saw 70 odd, and thought 'FUCK!' I couldn't be bothered to lift off as I knew I was already nicked
penalty for 70 in a 50? 3 points?

You just love the downhill as you can build up some speed and revs, and then hear the Vtec come alive under the bridge don't you...
Don't worry, i do it too

thing is, I've seen a lot of fixed speed cameras disapearing lately... I think the police have given up on them, as everyone knows where they are these days and only idiots will get done by them... So prob don't make anywhere near the revenue they once did.
I imagine they'll be turning a lot more to specs and mobile cams in the future
Mobile cams wind me up as you dont even realise its a police van till too late.

I got a notice of intended prosecution through for 86 in a 70 clocked by a mobile video camera van. But upon hearing that about 65% of the fines they send out don't actually have the evidence processed to back them up due to the short amount of time they have to get the letters out I just took the chance and left it.
3 letters, each saying I had 28 days to reply or I would be getting a court summons, and over 15 months later and I've not heard anything from it. Result.

Where abouts, there right badgers around here for where they locate them.
Crowthornes a nice place, except for broadmoor. But if anybody escapes their highly unlikely to stick around the area so your probably safer there.

what speed did you do to get offered the driving awareness course Mike?
I'm hoping they give me that rather than points, can't be arsed with points.

It wont be major anyway.
Either a fine + course or fine + points.
I haven't seen any fixed cameras disapearing.

i got doing 69 in a 40. was lucky to be offered the course. But in fairness i really enjoyed the course!! it should be given as part of learning to drive anyhow. Only cost 90 quid and took half a day. Some of the other people there had been caught doing other things (drink/drug drive) and they had to stay all day for a longer course lol.
