Especially 2WD.

Wanted one since I was sixteen.

Wanted one of each in fact.

My mate had a 4wd one and it spat gearboxes all the time. I'd only own a 2wd one these days, much stronger from what I've seen..

T5 box will put up with 400 bhp all day long but the 4x4 box will only tolerate about 270ish safely.

Yeh his was 350ish so he converted it to 2wd in the end to make life easier.

The one I'm looking at is only stage 1 so its not pushing the box hard.. wouldn't be looking for any more power so hopefully that would never be an issue.

Its more things like chassis legs or lack of I'm worried about so will be giving it a really good check over before I make an offer on it..

The fastest most capable car i've ever been in was a Hathaway big turbo Escort and the one car that tore my RS a new arsehole in the five years that I drove it was the A1 Rallysport/Motorsport Escort.

The most impressive non single seater racing i've seen is Grp A Sierras at Bathurst and in the BTCC.

Short of Grp B stuff, the most incredible machines i've seen doing hill climbs and sprints were a Mountune Sierra and a Turbo Technics Sierra.

People like them for a very good reason.

The only real rust i've ever encountered on Sierras is sills and rear arches and that's usually on earlier models and poorly treated million owner examples.
