Right guys.
Been offered a company car (Corsa D!) so mine has to go.
Do you think its best to sell as it is, or break it for spares?
Here's the details:
Corsa b 1.6 Sport, 1999, 49100 miles, FSH, cambelt changed at 44000, v.good condition, MOT & TAX, 2 previous owners.
There was something on the road other month - cracked my oil sump , and the engine ran near dry of oil...Replaced the sump, done 300 miles since, no tapping or knocking - sounds normal. Don't know if new owner would change anything?? (bearings, piston rings?!?)

I don't know if anything is wrong with the engine - it turns over first time, doesn't over heat, sound normal - i'm just saying what happened. -it may be nothing or an easy fix - i don't know.
Cheers guys

as long as it drives and nothing is majorly wrong with it, id sell it as i imagine you will get more for it as a whole with it being pretty standard.

sell it as it is, but dont bother to mention that its had a cracked sump and nearly ran dry of oil. If everything seems ok then dont feel as though your not being honest by not saying wats happened, in the end it will only put people off the car....

Wow thats cheap, usually the case when you go lower south for cars i think, i bought my corsa 1.4 Sport with 70K FSH, stadard with alloys for £1000.
I Would ask for £1400-£1500 and come down to about £1200 tbh mate

Your freaking out too much about it NEARLY running dry of oil, if everything sounds ok and such like, replaced the sump etc... then it will be fine, theres no point in bumping yourself for no reason. If it had a faint tap then id ask for £1200 and take £1000 but if all is well just advertise it as the Low milage good condition car it should be advertised as and youl be fine!

Sounds like running it dry hasn't actually done any damage. I would probably ask just over a grand and come down if necessary.

^ ^ Thanks a lot for the replies guys, really helpful and probably going to get me a few extra hundred to do some things with the corsa D or perhaps get a track car!
