do it online, from the time you actually pay for it online your car will be taxed and the actual tax disk comes a day or 2 later.

my dads tax ran out on the range rover...we were outside THE NEXT DAY setting up some ramps to get it down into the garden, the cops pulled up, asked us whos it was, we said ours and we were just going to move it,they took a photo of it and put a note on it there and then!

£78 fine...if not payed within 2 weeks then its £1000!!

think it was just bastard coppers on that occasion tho....

It's on the drive. Am i right it's ok there?

We have traffic wardens come around from time to time as we live in a permit zone.

Was going to say, do it online. Then it's technically taxed.

There was a rule that even though it's taxed online, you still have to display a valid tax disc. However now I believe you get a 3 - 5 day grace period, as long as it has been taxed online.

It's taxed now but i'll borrow my Mum's car for a few days until the disc arrives just to be safe.

£45 fine, no points, car cannot be siezed. DVLA can clamp it or tow it if they see it parked up but police can only issue a fixed penalty of £45.

Sick of people saying its like no insurance, it isnt!
