if you are stopped sudenly by lets say another car , tree , or a wall ie crash. the penalty is probably the death of your child

Why wouldn't they be using one? unless they are medically exempt they have to be in one.

just been stopped by police doing a stop check and the kids wasnt in child seats as they are in there dads car, i wasnt going far (picked them up from there nans to fetch them home as her car wouldnt start again grrr) copper said he wasnt going to do anything about it but if i got stopped again then the next copper might, so was just wondering

think i need to get another 2 seats tbh, the law is stupid though, they go on about how kids need to be in child seats but if you have 3 kids then only 2 have to be in seats and if there isnt a seat belt avalible then any child over 3yrs old can still travel without a child seat or a seat belt

You have answered your own question there. Get more seats rather than fucking around.
As for the third seatbelt in the back. My 307 does not have a lap belt, has one that goes over your shoulder. If you need to carry 3 kids regularly then maybe look at changing your car.
