180s put out 165bhp mate, the french version of them called the RC puts out 178bhp both as standard.
The Gti 138 puts out about that but with a remap they go as well as the 180s anyday of the week.

As you can see, the trend is that the 180 is really about 160bhp. This compared to the fact a Clio 197 is about 175bhp on the same rolling road!
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

The EW10J4 was in the 206 gti and Citroen C4.It was superceded by the EW10J4S which is the 180 version. Both of which are predecessors of the XU9J4 and XU9JZ engines from the 405 Mi16 and BX GTi.
I have owned both a 180 (from new) and a second hand 138 which I still have. Both are very capable cars and are packed with toys. My 138 pisses on a Corsa GSi for speed, handling, comfort and 'extras'.
I laugh at all the people here saying they are shit cars. Clearly you have never owned one! I have had seven Peugeots and their build quality is far superior than the two Vauxhalls I have owned. For a start they don't rust, they are fully galvanised.
Maybe a Corsa XE is faster in a straight line, but it can't go round bends!
I never asked what cars were fitted with the EW10J4,i asked what cars to this day still roll out the factory with it iftted.None that im aware of.
And not once have i slated them either,im actually a fan of the 180s and would have 1 over any of the equivelent hatches.
