Iam after a bit of advice............

I have a the moment a 1.8t mk4 golf 230bhp track car.

I have been offered good money for it and think i may take it!

Do I.....................................

1. Buy a corsa £500 with a buget of £5500 to turn it into a track car!
If so how would you spen the money(Was thinking 2l 16v).

2.As above with a buget of £2500 and spend the rest on a astra vxr for the wife.

3. Buy a skyline for around £6000 ( I have always wanted a skyline). And the wife can keep the car she has!

4. Buy something else. If so What?

Thanks

Tony

skyline for sure.

you'll severly regret spending all that money on a track corsa, just like everyone else who's thrown money at one will say.

if you can afford to run/maintain the skyline then id go for that but there all good options . 5500 should make a half decent track weapon

I was thinking of buying a £500 corsa earlier and building a track car and buying an astra gsi run around

Track corsa would be good but then its nice to have something you have always wanted

Problem i think with the skyline is i wouldnt want to strip it if i spent lots on it and if i buy a cheep one then its going to cost a fortune to make it into a track car as it would have to be 350 bhp min. and that cost dolla

I'd say option 2 as it's best of both and personally i wouldn't want to strip a skyline either

I had a tot up and realised if i keep the golf iam going to end up spending....

£3000 on a big turbo 350hp conversion
£2500 on management
£1000 on engine parts (stronger)to cope with power.)
£300 to finish the cage
£???? Carbon roof skin to remove the sunroof
£350 on polly windows.

Thats going to be close on £7500 and thats just some of what i would end up doing to it and at the end of the day its a mk4 golf i cant even adjust the front end on to get 2 deg of neg camber!

So i thing i should take the money and start again with something cheeper.

Plus a turbo track car it expensive to maintain so iam finding out!

Tony get the golfs cage to a fia standard, and get a msa booked for hillclimbs or sprint racing

the car is so close and you can peddle it, a few tweeks and maybe some competition (well at least till the astra starts hunting you down ) might make you realise how good it is

we all came away from germany wanting a turbo golf for a reason
