Mini cooper would be her best bet, can get them for under 5k now.

Tell her to stop being a mileage whore, and that cheaper model new cars with lower mileage are worse to drive, worse for reliability etc than a good quality used one wth more miles.

The mini is 7 years old, i'd not buy a kia so that would put me off, 500 was originally an option but not for 5k.

vx220 is for me

I'd have a newer low mileage car as well tbh unless I wanted something specific that was older.

Higher miles cars aren't better even if she has slightly unrealistic expectations.

20k isn't, 50k is depending on age.
