i'd personally go for the corsa vxr as it's got more potential and is better looking.if it was out of the clio and the mini i would take the clio, for the simple fact that i know i few people that have got/had a mini and it was forever breaking/in the garae being repaired.

I have owned a Mini Cooper previously and it was pretty much bullet proof so would have no hesitation in buying one based on that. residuals are good and service is top class at my local dealer

Any idea what MPG to expect out of the Cooper S? Heard they are a bit of a gussler? I do about 10k per year, mainly town driving

Having owned both, BMW build quality over Renault anyday but would still reccomend a 182 to anybody.

Normal Cooper S, low 30's, high 30's if your sensible/long trips.
Cooper S JCW, Cruising expect the same as a normal Cooper S, put your foot down, expect a lot less, ive seen mine go down to 8 when flat out.

it all depends on what you actually want from the car... in that price range you could also be in the Audi S3 Golf R32 range.....

between the clio and the VXR I would personally choose the VXR

Didnt like the clio after driving it
although there have been some very good suggestions here
Question is insurance
VXR is 16 so wont be cheap
