........(love this new trend of pointless thread titles) annoyed.

keep me vectra gsi quite clean and tidy. wash it every sunday atleast sometimes twice a week depending on how mucky it is and keep the inside hoovered and clean also.

some bird shit was on the bonnet the other night so i got a bit of water and the spongey out and wiped it off. well, it took a bit of wiping to get it off tbh. and basically as ive just washed the car again now, its fuckin scratched the bonnet to fuck. im going to try polishing it see if i can get it any better, but it honestly looks like some fucker has gone over a bit of it with wire wool.

yes, im fuckin pissed off about it. might need to have the bonnet painted.

Ghey.

If paint's not been removed but just scratched up, somebody handy with the wet & dry and a machine polisher may be able to sort you out

i think its got a big scratch in it tbh. i had a quick look as i hosed it down. left it to dry for a minute while having a tab then went and smashed some stuff up in the garage in a fit of rage.

i got a mate in bodywork trade can work wonders, but i think sadly its way beyond sorting without paint. i will have to ask him however.

Worth a try with touch up sticks, wet & dry etc before going down the respray route - you'll be surprised at what can be sorted

Failing that, may be worth considering a "smart repair" rather than a full bonnet respray

no. off to polish it now see what happens. still fairly pissed off about it. so much so that i will probably take the corsa out tonight instead.

if only i had left it till today to clean it off. fuckin typical. if it needs painted, it aint gonna be cheap.

quick polish and it does look better. there is one deeper scratch sadly and you can still see the wire wool look a bit. maybe as rich h says, get someone who ken what they doing on it might come out a bit better. so im a little bit happier, but still angry with myself about it.

might go put the bumper on the corsa see what i can break on that tonight aswell.
