Looks too similar to a normal Scirocco, and i hate those LED lights.

I like the wheels though. They're very similar to RS6 wheels, and they remind me of Bentley wheels too.

It looks a little better in these pics...

Interesting that they jumped on the Ford bandwagon and made it FWD instead of 4WD, but there is no mention of a fancy diff...

However, 1333kg is very impressive for a new car. Especially an Audi in drag.

The R20 is going to be slower, less exclusive, probably not as good at handling and more expensive than the RS.

I can see why people might prefer the looks of this car over the RS since its far less "chav", but i think the RS will still be the better car.

I'll going for a test drive in this one Already had a go in the 2.0 GT & its a very good car so I expect this will be very good!!

Still on the lookout for a FRS to test drive aswell if one turns up in the dealers as a demo.

Ford bandwagon lol.

They've done it so that it's 10 grand cheaper and 200 kg lighter, not to mention more efficient and they'll sell shitloads more with it being cheaper.

I aggree that they did is so it will be lighter and more efficient, but considdering they could have used the exisiting S3 drivetrain, there wouldn't have been that much of a price difference. Plus, i think it would have attracted more buyers if it was 4WD.
The only reason i can see for them to make it FWD is so they didn't step on the toes of the RS3 which will be 4WD; but saying that, its probably going to be a £35k car.

Exactly, VW's learned from the mk5 R32 golf that people (in the masses) dont want a heavy big engined car costing £26k with no options as they could have used the chassis from that but didnt!!

I think this will be good, as good as the RS? This Revoknukle thing is acclaimed to be more than just another fancy name. TBH I wouldnt even compare them as I dont think they would have a similar target audience. You buy an RS because you love the RS brand or want to try & pretend your a school boy again, you'll buy the Scirocco if you like to be seen but still fade into the background out of sight out of mind etc Both will be awesome!!

Are you sure?

The current S3 is a mk5 Golf in drag, the Scirocco is a mk6 Golf in drag.

I'd be surprised if the current S3 bits were so simple to bolt on, considering the rest of the suspension is redesigned.

Maybe VW have something in the pipeline for the future, maybe this is an "Astra SRi Turbo"....

I was just basing it on this...

"It’s actually the powerplant from the current Audi S3, and traces its roots back to the mk5 Golf GTI..."

But i guess just because it uses the engine, it doesn't mean the drivetain would fit too.

I guess you're right.

I dont see why you would buy one of these over the S3 or the MK6 Golf GTI. It looks horrid and is very nearly as expensive as the S3 that has the bonus of 4WD amongst other things!
