hi all iv just fitted a 1.4 16 valve sport engine x14xe in to my 2000 model sport (corsa b)its got power steering and air con due to the old one dropping a valve got it started first time but it has a slight missfire more noticeable at idle then when you rev it its there but doesnt really str#uggle to rev but you can tell its there if you knwo what i mean? anyway the eml light is on, the car doesnt have the alt belt on could this put the light on? or hav i missed a connector or earth possibly? iv put plugs and coil pack out of my other corsa that runs fine and it didnt really change it so any help would be great! thanks lee
sorry for putting it here but i wasnt getting any replys in the correct section and was hoping someone might be able to help me out

check plugs? change plugs?
check ht leads and there connections
change fuel filter
good place to start....
but if your engine managment lights on it probably going to be a dicky sensor

cheers mate iv done the plugs and coilpack
not done the fuel filter yet, yeah iv been told it could be the knock sensor with me just putting the engine in i could have missed it but not 100 percent but apparantly if the knock sensor goes faulty it retards th ignition just as a precaustion and will light the eml and run abit funny according to top buxzz iv just been on there and seen this picture the pins look th same as the ones in my car so is it possible il be able to do the paper clip test il be trying it tomorrow either way

Id suggest putting the alt belt on b4 you do anything.
Because the alt belt isnt on,the alternator wont be charging,therefor it wont be powering most of the engines sensors so itl be proper fucking up the ecu signals etc.

im not sure as iv run other cars before without them and nothing really happens but i suppose its worth a try cheers

When i done the XE conversion on my old Corsa,the alt belt wasnt on.It ran like a bag of shit wouldnt hold revs and struggled to start etc.Belt on and it was sorted.
Worth a try before you go replacing anything else.

yes he is right if your battery isnt running 12v+ it will efffect things
your aic con pump rns on the belt so that wil bring on eml if that aint right i bet
