All i can say is

First time its been on the road in about 2 years as hes been fixing it up and getting it ready for MOT etc.

Pretty much standard in terms of engine I think didnt get a massive spec off him but ino its running standard turbo and standard boost. Its got decent hi-spec 4pot brakes and decent coilover setup.

And far a car thats running standard turbo and boost my god! it just pulls and pulls because of 4wd

Fastest car ive been in in a long while!

I've allways liked the look of these, haven't heard many good stories about them though.

awesome cars...unfortunately gearboxes are made of chocolate

mate had one wehen was only running 0.8bar of boost, and jeez that shifted. ended up winding the boost to either 1.2bar or 1.6 bar and the clutch killed its self day before going the rollers. decided to break it!

but seeing these things launch is funny. 2 local lads have one, ones 300odd bhp other is ment to be 500bhp. fair play they were launching them hard and just went!

Yeh was telling me he aint planning on increasing power atm and that the drivetrain should be able to cope with standard power and its never thrashed either.. (apart from just when I said a let corsa is just as quick )

And its funny how everyone wants to race when your in a car like that... within 5 min we had a golf gti lean fr and an evo 8 or 9 try it on

That is nice. They look so good in white.

Miss my old Gti-R.If i didnt get banned,id still have it too this day,and ive promised myself another when my licence is clean.

Was running 313bhp @ 1.1 bar boost.Dosnt take much to get to that level either. Was insanely quick.Didnt break once, was as reliable as a swiss watch and the grip from the 4wd system was unreal.

Tune a Gti-R to 300+bhp and not much cars on the road will touch it from 0-100mph.

Gearboxes do have horror stories, but theres always a reason for it.Folk tend to buy them and kick there cunt without looking after them. Its constant launching that breaks them. Its not the actual internals that break, its something on the outside but i cant for the love of good remember what.Selector shaft or sumin.
A guy i know has AWD's old Gti-R.At 1 point it was the quickest in Europe with a 10.6 sec pass up at Crail. And iirc he said that was on a standard box.Its now running more power and an uprated box, gonna be silly fast.

The funny thing is,you dont need to launch them hard. Can pull away slowly then go for it and itl still sook your face off.

Heres my old R......

Done very very well on track too, drove there, done a few sessions, then drove home with no hic-ups.
