Good reliable vans with car like handling. The best engine to go for is the 1.7 cdti, i have a 1.7 dti and its gutless tbh. Check out c20lets garage he had a nice mk4 and now a nice mk5

I'm seeing it as a vehicle to get him and his tools to work, but also be used to go out places at night.
Why not an estate?

estate would be more practical, that way you got 5 seats (for mates etc) and for work, put the back seats down and you got ye'self load space. Best of both worlds imo
