How important is milelage to you when buying a second hand car??

I am looking at Astra's currently, and don't know whether to spend more and get lower milleage car(but older) or newer with more miles and pay less??

something like this:

Cheap Astra with 100k miles

or

Lower Miles, Older, More expensive

Also, a major factor is that the price difference in how much my insurance would be!

Opinions?

Mileage on its own is no use. Condition, history and mileage needs to be considered.

Wasnt a major factor when I was buying my Golf, I knew id be sticking a stack of miles on it anyway so current mileage didnt really matter, I was more bothered about general condition & price.

Mileage alone should't be a problem, aslong as it has been regulally serviced, and you can see that it has then don't worry. A lot of cars are just breaking in over the 100k mark get a volvo or a vectra over 100k and it'l go on forever.

Neither of them is cheap, mates trying to get rid of a w reg 2.0 sri with 90k for a bag of sand.

2nd one is also from a dealer, who will always be more expensive but you should get some sort of warranty.

I look at it this way, my car has a full dealer service history with every tax disc and petrol receipt. It's still been given death everywhere and close to blowing up
