Im looking to move out of the sticks and into town, so the Cavalier has to go Shameless linking: http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=492748 )

I have the chance of a 1.2 8v Corsa for a reasonable fee...

What are they like on fuel?

Ive had a few 1.2 Novas but cant remember what they were like on fuel

Cheers all

Bad, very very bad in my experiance.

Mike (Neos) old one used to do no more than 30MPG and one I borrowed recently to do a few miles managed 60 miles on a tenner - at 87.9 so more like 11 litres.

Dan295 seems to get OK miles out of his thogu

Honestly mate, I cannot fault it.

Yes it's slow and yes it's boring, but you can do all the work yourself, does 600 miles to a 45 litre tank easy peasy, costs £125 to tax and fuck all to insure.

Use to get around 280-300miles to a tank in my old one. But that was with 17s and a massive sub so I had to thrash it to get anywhere.

Now have a 1.6sport with same sub and 16s and get around 300-350 to a tank. Thats not exactly driving like a granny either lol

Like anything depends how you drive them, if i change up before 3000 around town i easily get 45 mpg and i travel 80 mile round trip to work at 70 mph on the motorway and can easily get 50ish mpg , but yeh there not that quick and obviously with more people in and thrashing it will have shit mpg
