im after ideas for my next car. theres got to be a few criteria it meets but other than them im open to suggestions on anything
must haves:
less than 80,000 if petrol or less than 100,000 if diesel
£2000 limit
no people carriers, 4x4's or daft things
must be either quick or looks nice or both
group 7 insurance or less
no write offs or recovered cars
no boy racered cars as i cant be bothered having to spend fortunes on it fixing it every other day.
ive spent a while searching auto trader, pistonheads, ebay,....basically all the usual places and cant really find anything that jumps out at me.
i dont really want to go down the finance route as want to pay it in one go.
im 20yrs old, 1 yrs NCB, 1 crash, been driving for 2years so anything that will be quite cheap for me to insure with those details. insurance quotes up to around £1400per year third party fire and theft.
any ideas would be great as ive pretty much run out now
list of cars ive looked at so far are:
saxo vtr/vts
106 gti/quiksilver
fiesta zetec s
also looked at scoobies and things like that but they are far too expensive on insurance.
let me know what you can come up with

i didnt really like fiestas after looking into them they just felt a bit tacky and just a bit lacking.
the thing is theres a lot for £2k but to get a decent car that looks nice is reliable and is a bit nippy and to still get it insured at a good price is quite hard.
i really want a 1.6 upwards.

Corsa C 1.4 Sri???
Or if looking to get out of vauxhall:
Fiat Punto GT
106 Rallye S2
From past experience with working with car insurance, if a car is ins group 6 for example with insurance company A, doesn't mean it's group 6 with all other companies so keep that in mind

Quite low to be honest, will be cheaper than a gti. Thing I like about them is there rarity and exclusiveness as opposed to other 106s. They are 1.6 8v, not shy, the handling is superb though, they are great fun to drive.

Well the astra 1.8 coupe with vaux is group 12 but with THEAA (whom i was with) it's classed as group 8.
Could be worth looking on pug specific websites?
Or unless you fancy a track S1, think they still sell the shell for like £500 direct from pug don't they? Last i heard anyway

might have to look into that lol most specific insurers dont like me for some reason though. i tried adrian flux and they quoted me over £7k for a 1.2 8v corsa!!

Really? And i thought i peeved them off with my quick speaking welsh tongue
Sure you didn't mention an XX99 by accident conviction wise
They say why it was that much?
Mean, im 21 with 2NCD with 3points SP30 and my newly installed 1.8 corsa B is going to be £680 for a year and everything declared!!

no they just said i was too high risk! they wouldnt even quote me on an old mini before i crashed and they are meant to be mini specialists! dont understand why though oh well direct line insure me cheaper than anyone else by quite a way so its not too bad.
ye the ones ive found are around the 130k mark and i dont fancy one that high mileage

lol you will be able to get insured on cars higher than group 7, and a 206 gti would be ideal (130)

think the non boy racer low mileage cars died along time ago same with the elderly lady owners who only used there go to go shopping once a week!
its strange though as some insurance companies wont insure me on certain cars but will on bigger engined cars
just bit hard trying to find a decent car on a budget and cheap enough to insure
