I done a run in my kit car, the carbs weren't balanced, the thing was totally out of tune and hardly burning any fuel and done 0 > 60 in 5 sec. My digi dash is calibrated perfect and has a 0 > 60 function.

Once it has been tuned and rolling roaded it will do sub 4 seconds.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

mines 5.4seconds on a gtec accelermeter, not bad for 1.5ton car with fwd!

Standard figure obviously i couldnt get it to do that but with an extra 30hp over standard i thought it would be realistic

because they are. anyone can make a small engined car do a 6 second 0-60 by making it as light as possible and tuning it up a bit.

but it sure as hell won't be as good at say 60-70mph +

but that's only because i'm not into traffic light grand prix's.

in his modded 1.6 it was 8.5 but the start could be improved i reckon just over 8 seconds with a much better start.

what sort of times are you getting?

If you're going off your speedo you gotta bare in mind its around 10% out of the actual speed, so 60 would be around 54-55 mph

I was under the impression that speedo's are only out at higher speeds - I say this because if I am doing 30 in a 30 I am going the same speed as other cars around me if what you say is true I would technically be doing 27mph and would have people right up my trumpet beeping at me and the same for other speeds

I am hoping for 8 seconds in mine eventually

My car is 10% the whole way round the speedo, same as my dads.
