i used good old turtle wax and then a selant made by autoglym... all available from the likes of motosave, etc

order was:
tar remover,
g3+scratch remover,
autoglym SRP,
turtle wax,
Autoglym Paint Sealer

Then went round the car with a bumper care product like back to black

By no means im not a professional, but ive recently bought a rotary machine polisher that im pretty good with, and makes things alot less physical and save time

I use the Megs stuff like your using and it last quite a while.A good few months between coats.
It sounds like your car could do with a good machine polish with G3/G10 and then finished with a good sealant.

My old red Mk3 Gsi was the same, polished and sealed then a week later it was back to the same.Gave it a machine polish and it was shining for ages.
