Hi All,

Went down Ripleys scrap yard earlier to get a few bits for the gf's Corsa and my Grans Astra.

Got the bits for the gf's corsa but couldnt find the bits for Grans car.

Anyway whilst looking for the bits me and my mate saw a red Xr3i. I thought oooo that could be mums old one, remembering the number plate in my head 'F624 LTT'.

Anyway walked round to the back and saw the numberplate and its my mums old car! Looking very sorry for itself! The engine is well out of place but no obvious accident damage to the bodywork. However I did notice there was no cambelt on the engine so maybe it snapped and thats why its there?!?! Think we sold it around 5years ago. Mileage read 89000, my mother seems to think we sold it with 85000 so whoever bought it didnt get much use out of it!

Whilst looking for the parts I was looking around for a GSi front bumper (thinking of the thread I saw a few weeks back when someone picked a mint one up for £40). Couldnt see one anywhere but as I was walking out I saw a GSi front bumper on the floor. No'ing that they sell for £100 - £150 on here. Thought I would try my luck and ask the bloke how much he wanted for it. £30!!!! BARGAIN!

Anyway...see pics!

Mums car when we had it:

How it stands today:

And the £30 GSi bumper, with fogs and splitter...

From what I remember we bought the Escort off two blokes from Brighton, obviously Gay! haha! Enjoy

Mmm, may give it ago spraying it myself first.

If that fails sell it or save to get it done in a bodyshop.

Anyone no how much it would cost in a bodyshop? Or how easy/hard it would be doing it myself?

why does every scrapyard seem to be a million times better than the ones round here?! the closest thing to finding goodies like a gsi bumper was a modified old school nissan micra with full shitty bodykit and some sort of boot build! wasnt even worth taking the fuses out of! the local car transplants has now stopped you even going in the yard you have to ask for the parts and wait for them to go get them! takes all the fun out of trying to find something special!
