hey,
im pretty new to the forum, and to driving my 1st car is a 1 liter corsa GLS
i only bought it because i love old corsas and my mate was practically giving it away with some 17" wolfrace alloys (soldthem)
and i looked under the bonet to find the ugliest engine i have ever seen Vauxhall Ecotech... it looks like ano over sized hairdryer motor and runs like it aswell.
its slow and over heats quite quickly.
is thee anything i can do to stop the over heating problem and to make the car a bit faster?
any help appreciated cheers

Bigger engine is your solution
No point in wasting money on making a 1.0 litre faster lol
If you have NO NCB then keep it until you get a years no claims bonus

12v ftw

Not a lot you can do to make it faster other than put 13" steelies on with 165 width tyres, it goes quicker with these on than with my 16" Softstars Also I'm fairly sure it accelerates a bit better now I've lowered it.
Have a look at the v-grille attached to the top of your front bumper, mine had the back covered with a piece of plastic, and the water was almost always at 97/98C, once I put a debadged grille on, it never goes above 92C unless I sit still for ages.

Corsa temperature always increases when stationary. Some people fit a switch to their fan so they can turn it on earlier.

I know, all cars will get hotter when not moving because of the minimal air flow.
But he didn't say whether it was stationary or not, and mine used to be hot all of the time with the old grille on, so threw it out there as a thing to check.

1.0's are soo slow but great ncb builders! I love mine...so economical, well over a hundered miles to a tenner
The fan on my 1.0 doesnt click in until it goes over 100 degrees. Been meaning to have a look at that Driving about it usually stays about 94ish

i was thinking its only mine that goes to 100 degrees in traffic jams!
when it does this i put my heater on "hot" and "4".. temp drops quickly then
as for driving mines always on 90 degrees.
