Well slap me in the face with a fucking octopussy.

As you may or may not know, went to get the corsa re-mot'd today.

Day started well, got the new rims on after getting the yokos swapped onto the rear two.

Tried again to find the problem with the boot soleniod, and failed.

Went for mot at 1115, turned up & the nice bloke who did it last time (who said he would overlook certain aspects of the car) was on the sick today & got the most miserable twat of a tester who followed the book to the letter, and beyond.

Failed on...

Headlight aim too high (both)
numberplates too small (both)
load valve on rear beam seized
emissions (too high of course)
only three bolts in both rear wheels (waiting for new bolts & locking bolts)
tailgate wouldnt open (really? is this a fail?)

So, just as its on the ramps ready to off and back to the garage, it dies, battery is dead, wont turn over, chuck some leads on & it fired up straight away.

Got back to the garage after a nice drive ( :norty: ) around blyth (straight home officer, honest) and it dies, wtf.

Get it on the leads, fires up, into the garage, get the soleniod working on the boot while the battery charges, whoop, it works, i have it earthed to two places now :? seems to work fine.

So go to pull it out of the garage to get some pics, wont fire.

Getting pissed off now.

Put the charger on, ticking over, try it again, engine is spinning, but wont fire, its like its not getting fuel or a spark.

So, take a lead off the dizzy, getting a spark, try a few more times, can smell petrol, so erm, whats going on?

Mind i cant hear the fuel pump buzzing, and im sure i should be able to?

So, im confused, and going back tomorrow to have a better check.

All in all, a pretty shitty day for me, cant even take it back round to get the mot cert if it wont fire, so will have been a total waste of time this week.

bastard.

Anyways, some quick pics as i was pissed off & couldnt be arsed to push it into the lane.

Swanky tyres...

Swanky rims...

Try and get the bugger sorted tomorrow & get it in the lane for some half decent pics.

No idea, to check spare or turrets?

Doesnt matter, it opens now.

More pressing problems with the non-firing.

if the car keeps needing jumping the your battery is buggered, as it runs when jumped then the alternator must be ok.
if you keep jumping it also check the fuses as you may have surged and blown something.

It could be that the alternator is fucked lol It might be just putting enough power back into the battery to keep the car running.

And with the non starting, is the fuel pump relay ok? I had a similar problem with my car just yesterday, changed the fuel pump relay as i could smell fuel, but couldnt hear the pump and taking off the return just left me with nothing.
Changed the relay and the car started straight away lol

Been at it again today, now battery is fully charged its spinning, but not firing, so something is amiss.

Need to get tech 1 on it really.
