I assume the GT-R has paddles for changing gear? I didn't know that.

there are all sorts of theories going about that its running cut slicks, upped boost etc....

i dont think it is (and why would tyres make an issue)

iirc the production tyres are specially designed jobbies so must have been very good anyway........

Cut slicks round there will give you a 20 second advantage over road tires.

Independant tests will show what its truely capable of, the cars good - but not 911 turbo beating good. porsche even took a gtr round there themselves and it fell 10+ seconds short of the turbos time iirc.

do you not think the 911's would be using tyres fit for purpose? I doubt they went round in a set of part worn 195 width Nankangs....
