I concur - GPS verified, that's bullshit, unless you've raised the rev limit or changed the final drive?
My 1.6 Sport was on the limiter in 5th with a standard rev limit, and my Road Angel was reading 128 mph.

I'm generally unimpressed by the quality of data in this thread.
Here's mine.

I've had 62mph whilst sat at some traffic lights. 80 odd behind a tractor in a 30. I think I was in 2nd gear for that too in my Derv Astra
Arosa's 110mph (flat out).
Corsa 124mph with 195x45x15 bold tyres bouncing off the rev limit. Speedo said 134 ish.

Fucking Hell.... You lot are so up tight about everything.
As for the 131 in the 1400.. I agree.. i did 128MPH in mine.
always some sort of criticism on every thread.
welldone to Ell_Pulsar for his max speed.. such a shame that some cars work better than others.
Rant Over.

If you bothered to read the rest, you'd find that 131 mph is impossible unless the rev limit is raised, as using a standard gearbox and standard rev limit, 128 mph is the maximum.
Hence why you, and I, and a couple of others have managed 128, but no more - its not physically possible without altered gearing or a raised rev limit.

What if you get to 128mph and then shake your sat nav or drop it on the floor?

Edit: If you drop it on the floor at 128 mph, I don't see it working for very long after

Top speed limiter has now been removed off my car so I thought Id test the top speed (in a private car park of course.......NOT Morrisons in Denton) Anyway, I think you will be surprised with the results........
