hello corsa sporters,
iv been reading up on the site for ages now but this is my 1st post so please bear with me!
I bought my wife a Corsa 1.4 8v GLS Si 5dr last summer with the intention of smartening it up for her to learn to drive in, however its still not on the road yet.So far it wears 15" TSW Razor's otherwise standard.
After months of reading how too's etc to get the lil'car back upto strength and getting excieted about the corsa scene im thinking of keepin the corsa for myself and saving for a new run around for my Mrs.Seems fair?!
Which leads me to my Q's:
being the 1.4 8v gls si 5dr,does it have the same 82bhp engine as the 3dr SRI of the same age (94 Lreg)
and
if so
im interested in doing sprints/hillclimbs with it just for fun really, i know massive factors for this are tuning,weight+handling which i could sort in time id wondered can this engine be coupled to a shorter ratio gearbox, to improve sprint acceleration and if so, where would i source the box????
ps. it may HAVE to be on the road soon and maybe the only car we have for a while,how hard mite it be living with a close ratio box? im mostly town+country laning it.... sorry, essay over!

doubt it would be any good at hill climbs or sprints
not without alot f money being thrown at it

it wont be the same 82bhp engine as the sri.. not sure on what the power output is..

Will have the SPI 60bhp engine.
5 door shell = No no for hillclimbs.
8v 82bhp MPi engine is a good little lump on carbs, but u'll still need to spend a fair wack to cover the problems that is the suspension and handling.
