Just rang up flux to get quotes to move my insurance over to a s2000

I'm currently paying £320 to insure my 106 gti,

I'm 24, got 6 years NCB, occupation 'software engineer'.

They quoted me, tpft £1500 and F/C £2500

So for a laugh I decided to get a quote on a Z3M, similar car - but a lot more powerful (300 + bhp rather than 240)...

Quote for Z3m same age and value as S2000, £800 f/c ?? WTF.

Anyone know any good insurers for 'hondas' / 'jap cars' / s2000s?

http://ww1.honda.co.uk/insurance/

s2000 an import ?

Vtec power, that's way, Vtec 240bhp is the equivalent of 500bhp.

Get a ZM then mate better car all in.

S2000's andITR's are just silly money to insure because of the stupid badgers who drive them.

Best so far £990 with admiral F/C but with £1000 excess (do I have to pay that if it gets nicked? or just if i smash it?). I never claim off insurance anyway.

Nismo - Flux told me 'we don't insure that car'

RESULT!!

I added my mum to my policy as a named driver (still me as main driver / car owner)

£848 Fully comp, 10,000 miles a year, use for commuting and only £500 excess

what was rediculous was...

as a 'software engineer' - I got quoted £944

as a 'Computer programmer' I got quoted £848.

and before I added my mum on as a named driver it was quoting £1250 f/c... with her it's £848.
