The cost would far outweigh any performance gains

not worth it lol, you can chuck £600 at an exhaust and manifold for a massive 5-10bhp power gain. Tell him to put a shiney backbox on it and save for something faster.
Tuning a 1.2 is false economy as for the the price you spend on parts and informing your insurers its been modified you may as well have spent it on insuring a faster car from standard.

im sure a google search would bring up something. failing that it would be a custom one and that would cost a fortune. cant you tell him to save his money, were in a recession dont you know?

best thing for us all to do during a recession is spend, dunno about you but i cant say ive felt a difference during the so called "credit crunch"
tbh theres always going to be a faster car than whatever you have so theres no point in modifying anything is there? might as well just keep saving your money and buy a veyron

Theres a difference between a veyron and a corsa though. i never said dont modify, im all for modifying but i like things that are cost effective! But if he wants a quick corsa C he should either get a transplant done or do the most intelligent thing and buy a 1.8 SRI. Tuning a 1.2 is like pissing your money away.
Credit crunch and recession are 2 different things, but yes i have felt the difference as i was made redundant before xmas and now even mcdonalds dont have any vacancies. Money should be looked after, not wasted on tubular manifolds etc.

but why buy a 1.8sri when he could get an impreza?
he has an sxi and wants it to sound better, its my understanding that in order to decat a new manifold would be needed?

I said if he wants a quick corsa C to buy a quick corsa C in the first place instead of trying to make a slow one fast. Why build what you can buy is the first thing you should think of when modding a car.
For sound? just remove the middle box. the cat is in the manifold on those iirc so just leave it put. removing the middle box will make it plenty loud enough.

All he needs is a rear can if he wants "noise" If he wants proper chav noise noise noise and no performance, tell him to remove the middle box. then be laughed at for having a car that sounds vastly quicker than it moves.
If he wants performance, get another car.
There is simply no need for a CAT back system, let alone a full system. You will notice minimal performance, and it'll still be slower than say a 1.4.
Is there something available? Yes, Lexmaul or Dbalis will do something.
Is it worth it? About as usefull as paper in water.

Dbalis, I would say, but I hate the company and will not advertise them. Some dodgy company down south

TBH if you get someone to weld in a straight pipe to replace the standard cat and weld in a 1.6 cat underneath, that would at least make the throttle response a bit better.
