hi there, im getting my car tonight and i wanted to know about what i have to do to drive it on l plates. i allready have my provisional license and i have started driving lessons. i was just wondering if i had to pass my theory before i can drive with l plates? and also will i have to wait for the v5 to come back? cheers.

p.s i managed to get a quote of 924 with quinn direct on a 1.4 sport with 3 points i know it will go up when i pass though

you dont need to wait toass your theory, jus as long as you have isurance on it and someone who is over 21 and held a full licence for over 3years.

im sure someone will crrect m if im wrong there

yeah my bro is coming out with me. hes 21 and has been driving for over 3 years so its all good. ive only done 2 lessons tho and im learning in a derv

I think pretty much all instructors use dervs now. I think what he meant though was that he's learning in a derv and will br practicing in a petrol.

I did exactly the same and it wasn't too bad Learned in a 1.4 derv mk6 Fiesta, practiced in a 1.1 Saxo

you need a driver over 21 whos held there licence for 3 year or more, you laso need to be insured on the vehicle your driving.

aye 3 points from my ped but thats when i used to ride like a prick. ive grown up a lot since then. anyway i got my car tonight im gonna give it a proper clean and get some pics up tomo

I was paying £900 with quinn on a provisional, I passed and it went up to £2500. With NO points on my license.

Do what i'm doing..
Provisional.. get it on your mums insurance with you as an added driver,
i went with quinn and got a quote for £542,
learnt to drive in it for 5 month passed my test, insurance then went upto £1800, but you can cancel the policy at any time with quinn so do that, only paid £200 for insurance. Then got a new quote from churchill at £1500 on my own policy with my mum as an added driver! Cheap as.
