They are as reliable as the car the engine came out of.

Theres no such thing as the wrong website, only the wrong question.
Wether its a honda or a vaux, if the engine was mistreated beforehand expect problems along the way. If it was well looked after you can enjoy thousands of trouble free miles providing you keep up the maintenance. Your best bet is to rebuild it before it goes together, that way you know its right before it goes in.
One person whos had a thrown together xe corsa with a knackered engine in will tell it its a bag of shit and not to bother. Another who rebuilt the engine and did everything properly will tell you its a brilliant car.
Read your question before posting it, the answer is sometimes clear then.

Mine was ok most of the time, and it got used properly. Its an old engine, so random sensors and stuff are common but overall its a pretty tough unit.

long drives wud surely suit the engine better being a big ol' 2 litre jobie....makes a corsa less of a town car

Had a couple of little niggles, and it was used alot and for what it was built for most of the time.
Make sure you get a decent engine and you shouldnt have too many problems.
Check for noises on start up when cold, blue smoke and usual engine checks. Check the engine sits straight and all the gears work fine too.

buy a car mate with the engine in one with a rotten body or something so u can hear it running and you will no the milage and everything, then just swap engine into yours and scrap the rest of the car . thats what i done and have neva had a problem , they are realy good solid engines
