This is Nick Manns self designed and built Mannic Beattie. It is powered by a Ford BDA engine, driven by a Turbo which is itself powered by an auxiliary power unit (APU) which keeps the turbo spinning at full boost all the time.

This was recorded at Shelsley Walsh in July 2005. The car is four wheel drive, and is incredibly quick off the line, recording times of under 1.9 seconds for the uphill 64 feet marker, which is in excess of 2G off the line

Watch for Nick to raise his hand, and then listen carefully for the APU to startup (the high pitched whine), which is started by compressed air, and operated by the helper standing alongside

the APU is running the turbo, not the exhaust gases, no lag, no spool up, it just hits full boost straight away from what i make of it

That is piss in your nans mouth fast, isnt there any regulations im hillclimbing, wouldn't he have an advantage over every other car by running a turbo at constant full boost?

Its quick off the line, but can't be that quick round the corners.

It didn't qualify for the top 12 runoff
