Di is an ok engine, but not massively quick. It sounds fast, being a 1.7 and diesel, but it's similar insurance for a 1.2 SXi Corsa C.

Try and find a 1.7DTi SXi pre-facelift C.

well plan was to hand it down to my little sister who is about to start driving and use it myself as an eco warrior over the 25-30mpg astra

Di seems to be in the same insurance group as a 1.2 and the 1.7dti seems like a group or two higher on the insurance

although it would now appear i may have lost the sale will wait till tomorrow to find out although pretty sure ive missed it
