I've got the AVIC F900 BT Double DIN in the Rex, absolutely love it.
Dead easy to naviagte around, has Sat Nav with speed camera detector, DVD, SD card, USB connection,Parrot Bluetooth, AV input so you can connect a camera etc etc. Was best part of £900 but well worth it, one of my favourite things in my car:

Very nice units, was playing about with one at work the other day, easy to use and pic quality was brilliant.

Corsash, what's that little box under the satnav? Saw a guy with one mounted to one of those knobs that lorry drivers have on their steering wheels to help them turn. Only he was driving a Hyundai Coupe so it wasn't needed in the slightest.

Just read that, realised it didn't make sense sorry.
The little black box with the white directional buttons on it - what does it do?

Yeah it's the hand controller for the ECU, gives readings as Rob said and can be used to make some changes to the engine running.
