If your rims are flaking Mike why don't you return them etc? I'd say a Golf VR6 is a good move as long as it's a well looked after Highline.

Corrado would be better though

don't pick one of those cars because they've been offered, pick whatever you want

also, the golf VR6s are ace. i was looking at them last summer but found it pretty hard to find a good example, which was a shame, but c'est la vie. i would definately have one in the future providing the right example came along

Also what do you value your car at??

I don't understand why people think its a good idea to put up top speed, or 'not for the feint hearted. Very fast!' etc. when selling a car. Surely that gives it away that its been ragged around.

id find it hard to believe someone selling a nova turbo hasnt ragged it. why bother doing it if you not going to use it?

better to tell the truth than to say lovingly only rev'd to 2.5k in each gear obeying all speed limits. this car is show and shine and mostly moves about via a transporter. its never done anything over 70mph.

sound like ever more of a twat.

Didn't suggest lying and being OTT was better. Obviously cars like that are driven hard to an extent but I havent ragged my Turbo. Yes I drive it hard now and then but certainly don't rag it. Personally if I was looking for a car and the owner plastered the ad with how fast it was and how many Scoobys it had beaten and how it does 0-60 in x amount of time I would be very very warey of buying it. Unless you're an 18yr old adolesent chav I can't see how reading an ad like that would make you want it. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would know that a Nova Turbo is fast. Wait till they come and drive it for themselves to see the power.

Any of the mentioned px's will more than likely need things fixing on them just like your M3 does, indeed they could end up costing you more. By the sounds of it only minor things need doing to the M3 to fix it up? Seems a bit odd px'ing it for a tubby old golf or a nova....

I disagree. My definition of being ragged is driving it hard all the time, bouncing off the limiter everytime you change gear and screeching round islands like a knobend. I certainly don't do that in my car and certainly don't rag it. But on this occasion, like many, we'll agree to disagree old friend.

I have a Golf Gti 16v and one day will have a VR6.Could sell or swap the Gti for 1 but i use my car for deliverys so need decent MPG.I never ever considered a Mk3 as i was told they were a bit lardy.Granted its not the quickest but is a heavy car(has 150bhp) but it still goes good and at the same time is comfy as fuk and well built.
Get a shot or a ride in a VR6 and youl be surprised at how good they are.And they are still decent on fuel and will average 28mpg when driven sensibly with the odd blast.
And the sound of a VR is to die for.
