Looking to change my 1.2 8v B now as ive had it almost 2 years and after a change for something with a bit more power.

Going to have around £1200 to put down but willing to get a car for around 2k-2.5k on finance and pay it off within a year.

Been looking at a C which is an obvious choice, really just after something thats nice to drive, has good mpg ( going to be doing a fair few motorway miles and the 1.2 8v barely gets 220 miles to a tank! )
Only 19 and haven't got 1 years no claims yet ( in a couple of months though I should have ) so can't be anything stupidly expensive on the insurance.

Any other recommendations?
Also anything I should watch out for when buying a car on finance?

Cheers guys

1.8 astra g sri, saxo vtr, corsa C 1.8 sri or 1.7 cdti, fiesta zetec s

All nice cars and fairly good on fuel. Also wont cripple you on insurance

Corsa C 1.4 SXi/SRi, be cheaper than the 1.8 SRi to insure and will be a fair bit more powerful than what you have now.

I'd also suggest a Corsa C 1.4. Fast enough not to get bored but also not too fast insurance wise. They barely increase my insurance premium going from the 12v!

Just something like the Corsa again mate with more power!
Age doesn't really matter as such,as long as it drives well as you know where i'll be doing my long drives too mate..!!

Daniel, job seems to be okay to be honest if not ive got a small savings account to help me out for a month or two.

Stavs it's your C that's edging me towards a C!

Try for an Ibiza like mine. Alot of car for the money, also quite good on fuel, Can get upto 350 miles to a tank of petrol, not too bad for a 1.4 16v

The C will be a similar power to a 1.4 Sport, dont know if C's weight more than a B though?

Depending on how long the drives you're doing are, I'd consider a 1.3CDTi or 1.7DTi depending in your budget.

I only bought the car as a stop-gap car and for another year's no claim's. I allway's wanted a astra turbo but i lost alot of money through the blue corsa and didnt have enough for one i liked. Then 70mm done his build and it insipered me to do it, I was happy with the car being converted and it was great fun during the 6 month's of z-let. Over the year astra's had come down alot in price, most GSi's where fetching 7.5 - 8k for a good example in 2006/7. Then being offered good money on the corsa and the GSi's comming down to around 5.5-6 for a good one i had to do it. I can keep the astra for a good few year's now as it does what it say's on the box. I will wait for the VXR to drop to about 8k and invest in one of them i spose
