Anyone found anything stupid about insurance.

Ie Elephant want £2120 for a 1994 BMW 320 Coupe, yet they want £1930 for a 323 coupe (2.5 straight six). And then a i tried a quote on a older 325 (what the 323 replaced with same engine) and they wont even quote me!

Anyone else have any stupid things like this?

Yeah.

Insurance year 1 = £1000.
Insurance renewal after crash = £1600
Insurance year 2 = £700 from Endsleigh as I'm a student.

So, I think "hmmm, I'd like to lower my car". I ring up and they have to ring back. They don't, I ring back and it has been forwarded to head office.

I get a call back.

"Well sir, under your current policy, they will not allow you to lower your car. This means you'll have to move onto another new policy".

"So this means I'll lose what is in effect 3 months NCB?"

"Correct. Then you'll have to pay an additional £1300 taking your insurance premium to £2000".

I wrote my car off last year, now as i pay monthly i have to keep paying the policy. If i DONT have a car it continues at £70 a month, but in buying a £300 shitter its gone down to £25 a month. Cheaper to insure a crap car than no car

Cheaper for me to insure an £80k Galardo than it is for a £15k Evo.
