What are these like to live with. Looking at them due to the low tax, and it costing less to insure than the Ibiza. Are there any tuning options with them? Are there any common faults with them?

Monsters turbo did go and its very rare for that to happen - the history of his car is a bit unknown due to being a company use type thing.
1 thing to be careful with is that not all are £35 road tax, some are £120 - this depends on age.
I've never driven one but have been told they aren't exactly fast as they're only a 1.3 but got a bit of torque so good on the motorways.

The one I looked at is an 04 plate, would this be in the £35 tax band. All its going to be used for is to go from work and back, will be doing a few more miles if I get this new job.

I don't think 04 plate is on the cheaper tax bracket. Parkers has all the info

Good cars, I liked the engine when I had one, tuning box gives good gains.
Monsters car was a company one, which means it was ragged to death everywhere and generally not cared for, which I think a few of us mentioned at the time.
