Hi all,
Ive seen so many insurance topics recently that ive been dreading renewing my insurance! As I am a 19 year old male, with a 1.4 corsa sport, but have been driving 2 years, with 2 years ncb and had the car a year!
When I first bought the car, I paid £1500 fully comp after much searching quotes to find!
So just done a money supermarket check, and this year its looking more like £800!!!

Well happy, but crazy the difference a year makes!
Any tips on lowering the price further would be brilliant though!

Just thought I would post a good news insurance topic for a change!! haha

add your mother and father to the policy andd this will decrease it. Also on most insurances you might think your saving money by lying and saying its kept in the garage, but actually parking on the street is cheapest. Also when choosing your occupation you might have a few job titles that meet your job, im an electrician at a factory, but when i put i was an electronics engineer (which technically i am aswell) it went down a hundred quid, so play about with your job title, and also play about with your named drivers jobs as it all makes a difference, for my dad being a setter was 20 quid cheaper than being a tool setter . . . . . but they and the exact same job. Just spend loads of time messing about and determine what all the cheapest options are. Good luck

haha, thanks for the tips mate, but the car is in a garage, and there are no alternatives for my job title - "microbiologist" working in the water industry!
And I dont live with my parents, so didnt think I was allowed to put them on the insurance!

Will go and have a scout and mess about with all the options to see what I can do - quite happy with my initial search though! But fingers crossed I can get it down a little bit more!

Thanks for your help!

Well, maybe if it gets stolen it happens to be in the garage , it only says where it will be mostly parked, doesnt mean if you say its on the roads and it gets stolen from the garage they wont pay out. Course you can put your parents on , can put anyone on, they dont have to be at the same address.

Another thing, you got a quote for 800 quid on money supermarket, id check on the website the quote was from to see if it gives you the same price, sometimes moneysupper gets things wrong . All the best.

My mate put down he had a 2nd job as a stunt man & got a lower policy.

Said if it ever came back to him he'd just say he was out of work seeking employment.
