Would unevenly worn tyres cause a wobble in the steering at high speed?
ball joints are fine, new brake discs have been fitted, but about 80mph it shakes alot now and alot under braking....
Tracking and balancing has also been done.......reckon its tyres?!

why the hell is it going to matter what the car is
We have had shagged tyres causing a wobble/vibration before.... 1 tyre was a bit egg shaped round the rim.

What have you been putting on to cost that much?
You can get Eagle F1's on valuetyres.co.uk for £160 each

Personally I'd prefer the extra tenner and get Goodyear
£116 is cheap for that tyre size though, dunno what Nexen are like but probably Ditchfinders at that price.

Was just the first 2 options on the results page. Yes I would get good quality tyres for a car like that. Not like it's a Fiesta 1.1 or anything that you can put on any old tyres

Yeah, exactly. Not exactly something that you want all over the road this time of year, or in a ditch at any time of the year.
Fair play for putting part worn's on though, I thought £80 a corner was expensive enough for 195/45/16
