Yeah, 1.4 85-90bhp diesel, nippy but the 1.6 engine is still 1000000x better

They do a 1.6D on the latest model. Think its about 110bhp.

Before they facelifted, it was a shitty 1.4D. It really wasn't rated for its drive, and only really sold on its looks. New newest model has a 1.6D which I think is a Peugeot engine, like the petrols. Better, but by no means great. There are a lot better diesel hot hatches out there for the money.

if it's the 110bhp peugeot diesel engine then that's the one we build in ford? never knew we had a contract with BMW Mini we do have a contract with Peugeot though so they could be selling them on to BMW Mini.

Yeah its a 2.0 TDI 170. I think its good. Others might not 
I thought about and looked at its rivals before hand but this is the one that suited me best!

reason i ask is once i can sort a smallc ar for my gf Im looking into either a
tdi a3 or new shape astra for myself (if possible)
