I have my Certificate of Entitlement for my personalised reg. Im going to send my V5 off next week to get it put on, but when and how do i get plates made up??

Can i do it before? I.e go to somewhere to get them made up (halfords) with my driving liscence and the certificate (V750/01)

Anyone know? Its not clear from the info the DVLA gave me.

you should receive a form saying that the reg is in your name, if you take that to a place where they make up plates you should be able to get the plates. I think the form is the certificate you are on about, so you should be able to get them made up but can't put them on until the DVLA has changed the number plate on their system or you will be getting pulled everytime the police do a check on your car

go to your local DVLA place its easy as they explain everything.
when i went they printed me a new tax disk and MOT certifacte. then said get your plates put on the car when you get home.

sent the tax disk back to dvla with old reg on it.

phone insurance to change reg. DONE

fancyplates.com

dont need any documents and they send them out reasonably quickly in my experience. plus i like the fact you dont end up with Halfords (or where ever you get them made up normally) written in little letters at the bottom of the plate cos it looks naff.

dont even get the BS number on the ones from fancyplates, well not last time I got a set anyway.

probably means they aren't strictly legal but I think worse crimes have been committed

Order them online.

You can get a cleaner plate that way, and its next day delivery if you order before 5pm (usually).

16"x4.5" is a nice size to go for, smaller than standard (shorter), but not small enough to get pulled over for.
