but what bout if your parents do actually drive the car? then surely your not braking the law. . . . what happens then?

19, had my license for 3 and a half months, driving a 1.5 Yaris T-sport and i'm paying £1600 fully comp, however soon to be £1200 with an additional driver.

As John said, its quite simple really, whoever is going to do the most miles in the car, is the main driver, and anyone else who borrows it for pottering around town is named. AFAIK you can add as many named drivers you want, like your grandma, mum, even sister etc, this may help to bring the price down

I had the same problem a while back cheapest quote i got was £1960!!!
for a 1.2 16v corsa.

managed to get it down to £660

What i did was got my grandad to register the car hes the main driver on the policy and has max ncb, then put my dad on as a named driver also max ncb, big sister aswell 6 years ncb and finally me 0 ncb just passed test haha

not sure if its entirely legal but the car is insured, i'm insured to drive it and its a shit load cheaper, and the best part is all named drivers earn a no claims bonus with admiral

edit: me and my grandad do actually share the car hes uses it mostly during the week and i get it at the weekend

ive managed to get 1092 TPFT with fluxdirect. that was using quotezone.
