Porsche own the mojority of VW.

VW own Audi, Skoda, Lamborghini, Seat, Bentley, Bugatti and even Scania if i remember correctly, so in reality, Porsche own all of the aforementioned brands.

Will Porsche take over the world one day?

Fiat own Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo Lancia and Iveco. Not that much in comparison.

I'm sure GM have their fingers in Fiat's pie these days as well. Hence the Corsa sharing the Puntos chassis or vice versa, lots of Alfas have Vauxhall engines as well.

Well GM own Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Daewoo, GMC, Holden, Hummer, Opel, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, Vauxhall, and and Wuling

Remember, just because a brand isn't popular in the UK doesn't mean it isn't popular abroad. America its the worlds main market, and they don't get Astras, Skodas, Seats etc. Dewoo's and Chevvys are HUGE in the asian countries.

Most manufactures are owned by another make.

Notes
* The OICA statistics rank the Toyota subsidiary companies Daihatsu and Hino separately, and Porsche separately from the Volkswagen Group; in this table they are included with Toyota and Porsche respectively.

** "Global" may be misleading; Ford has traditionally maintained largely distinct ranges under the Ford marque in the United States, United Kingdom, and mainland Europe, but these distinctions are fading and have gone altogether within Europe (including the UK).

[edit] Company relationships
It is not uncommon for automobile manufacturers to hold stakes in other automobile manufacturers. These ownerships can be explored under the detail for the individual companies.

Notable current relationships include:

The Renault-Nissan alliance involves two global companies linked by cross-shareholding, with Renault holding 44.3% of Nissan shares, and Nissan holding 15% of (non-voting) Renault shares.
Porsche Automobil Holding SE announced on January 6, 2009 that its stake in Volkswagen now exceeds 50%, making Volkswagen Group (and its associated marques) its subsidiary.[17]
The Volkswagen Group holds a 37.73% stake in Scania (68.6% voting rights).
Ford holds a 33.4% stake in Mazda.[18] and an 8.3% share in Aston Martin. Ford is currently in the process of selling off 20% of its ownership in Mazda, 6.9% of which will be sold back to Mazda. [1]
Hyundai Motor Co. holds a 38.67% stake in Kia Motors.[19]
Daimler AG holds a 19.9% stake in Chrysler Holding LLC.[20]
General Motors still holds a 3% stake in Suzuki. GM is currently in the process of selling the 3% stake back to Suzuki for $230 million [2]. Suzuki is also partner with GM in GMDAT and CAMI.[21]
Renault holds 20.5% of the voting stakes in Volvo Group.
Toyota holds a 51% stake in Daihatsu hence having a controlling interest in the company, and 16.5% in Fuji Heavy Industries, parent company of Subaru.[22]

GM has a stake in Suzuki but selling it, why on earth would you have a 3% stake in Suzuki in the first place? Pointless.

Suzuki don't make money???????

Im sure they are quite successful in motor cycle racing.

Not to mention all the watercraft engines and other products.....

Just because they don't make many cars, doesn't mean its a small company.
