Whats the advantages of paying £53.10 to a VOSA garage over £20 down my local place?

They should all be £53.10 if they are an approved MOT station...
then again, if you know the local chappies & they do it on the cheap, don't knock it

You are always best to find an MOT only garage as they are likely to do the job properly.
Its too easy for a CV gaitor to get ripped so a quiet garage will have some work etc.

Cheers for the opinions, although when I looked around the fact it would be a 60 mile round trip for the MOT kinda answered my own question

I dont understand why people think that the not so busy garages will fail a car for stupid things. What makes them think that they will get the job of fixing it??

Yeah, must be, see my house thread.
Diesel is still 99.9 here, 88.9 for petrol.

My experience is smaller garages that i had MOT s at, if there is something wrong with the car, they will tell you and sometimes let it go through, unless its serious.
