Is it just me or does it look like it's had a full respray? Most probably just different light/cameras but it does look very different.

quote: Hi adam i think it might of gone from europa blue to coral blue judging by the low quality pics of the car pre repair it doesn't look quite as metalic. however the colour code sticker is correct for the car so who knows. the repairs were done by a previous owner who owned a bodyshop.

I'd have expected him to have that in the advert tbh. Do new vauxhalls still have the plates with the VIN and original paint code? And would it have been changed when respayed?

They have a thing inside the door shut with the paint details on.

Set of dark wheels on that turbo and it'd look stunning imo.

in theory yes if you change the colour as it has the paint code on.

I take it the 'colour code sticker' he's talking about is the same thing?

yeah its just a sticker on the inside of the drivers door shut. You could just leave it or peel it off and not have one but if it matches the current colour of the car it can only be a good thing.

Ah right, was just thinking exactly that - didn't know that was what was meant.

Cat D is normally just an uneconomical repair making it a write off. I purchased a CAT C Rover about 10 years ago that had little more than lock and steering column damage.
Used it for 8 years with no problems what so ever. No affect to insurance at all.
Only thing to be aware of is the HPI check if you sell it on. I just told the guy who bought it off me what it was, showed him the receipts and he could see from the age and extra mileage there was nothing to worry about.
