Its fantastic, and just so much fun and fantastic on the smaller circuits especially. You shouldnt compare a corsas handling to a 106, alot of it is the chassis design as previously stated. Of course its possible to make a corsa handle better, although the mods you stated arent enough. Maybe with a wider track.

I'm the opposite. I've had 4 Corsa's and 1 106 But I can agree to the fact the Corsa is no where near as good at handling. If you want something that handles like a 106, get a 106.

When you drive a 106 GTi on a good road properly (throwing it round a roundabout in your local town center at 2am is not properly) it is a whole lot of fun, you can really spank it around and take some ridiculous liberties. The steering is perfectly weighted and offers bags of feedback, the brakes are strong and the engine is really nice and revvy. All that out of the box, no messing.

So, no you cannot make a corsa handle like a 106. You can make it as quick as one but the person driving the little french tin can will be having a lot more fun.

i must say this does make a whole lot of sense, but it was the speed around a track i was referring to i.e is it possible to make a corsa as quick round a track as a 106 with equal power/weight ect?

i know ctr's handle, but does any other particular civic handle, more importantly for 106 money?

all civics handle, independant suspension all round, with the right set up (get one with anti roll bars standard), you would not be dissapointed,

This man has had both! and knows what he's talking about!

However- I've heard the front and rear ARB's on corsa's do make a big difference! Go as large as you can for the rear ARB.

This is where you'll notice the difference the most! Hooning around on British B roads, you'll probably find a nicely set up corsa and a 106 can have a nice little play (probably down to the drivers confidence mostly).

However, get them on track and increase the speeds greatly and you'll suddenly notice the corsa understeering a lot and rolling about even with the ARBs etc.

However, that said - I have seen Corsa's handle well on track. They need work though, I'd definately recommend doing anything you can to stiffen up the rear and get it to be neutral / oversteery rather than understeer. A Limited Slip Diff will help too.

I dont like how the back end kicks out in my vts.

Yes proberly is down to my driving but my corsa never did this

Vts is standard atm though so with a decent suspension set up etc should be better

don't lift off or brake while cornering and it shouldn't.

Yes. It's probably due to the way you're driving.
