Well a bit more info would be appreciated before making an informed decision
Firstly, why is the choice between the two of them? Normally a diesel is used to save money on fuel consumption. A warm hatch isn't

been looking for a corsa c for ages and wanted something better than a 1.2, no one round heres got a sri c either, my mates got a astra 1.8sri n its pretty quick so i thought the corsa would be pretty fun, but i know diesels can be chipped and remapped to make them very quick

If it's performance orientated, then I'd always go for the Petrol. I know that cc for cc you can normally get more power from the diesel, but I just hate the power delivery so much. Petrol ftw!

tbh I'm a petrol man,
But if I had the choice of a 1.8 sri or 1.7cdti corsa sri I'd chose the cdti
Far more fun little hatchback than the 1.8
