For a while ive been going to these events as theyre only a 10 min walk down the road from me.
im seriously thinking about saving up and trying it out, ive spoke to the drivers etc and it should cost around £7,500 for the car!
basically you can enter any hatchback car you want within a certain wheel base, the engines have to be either a 2.0 pinto or a C20XE, also must be rear wheel drive with an LSD What do you lot think?
a few pics from the local website

The first pic of the saxo has a C20XE and a Sierra LSD

I've been wanting to get into hillclimbing for years. Just never really been able to afford it.
If i was to do any form of motorsport it would be hillclimbing though.

Looks like a decent event. Dont forget to consider entry fees and so on though, not just the cost of the car.
Might it be worth trying stock cars or something similar first?? Something cheaper to compete in to try it out before spending £££

Yeah i was thinkign this, they do the 1.3 class, stock cars which a nova would be ideal for, also as its "Stock cars" the engine, transmision, drivtrain etc has to be stock, tuning is allowed, and tyre choise is road tyres only iirc,
My GF's uncle has a Car transporter, and the fees arent that much i dont think, about £150

Yeah thats what they are.Theyr arent road going car shells.Think that class is called the Pro Stocks.
Theyr my fav class of stock cars.I go to see them up here at Cowdenbeath Racewall.Fast as fuk too.
They use anything from new shape Mini moulds to VW Corrados.
Theyrs a guy from England who comes up in his Corrado, starts at the back, and always ends up in front.Hes amazing.
