Started the year with my coupe:

Then I got some 18" Irmy Evostars, then someone hit and run on the front bumper so had a GSi one put on:

And that's how it looks now, only more dirty and with a split rear bumper and broken bumper bracket after I reversed into a concrete bollard in the work car park on Saturday night, waiting for it to be sorted through my insurance as it's also dented the bootlid - bugger

What size is that backbox, 3"?
I'd refurb the BBS personally, black with red lip sounds the sex
Looks a bit higher on the back than the front to me, but that might be because it's on a slope.

Yeah thats a Magnex 3" rear tailpipe.
Re-furbing the BBS's was a deffo, then i seen another red Mk3 on Porsche D90s and it looked stunning.
Aye Golfs tend to sit that bit higher at the rear.On a slope it looks worse. On level ground its hardly noticeable, but a coil off the rear should get it sitting even.Thats in the 09 plans tho.

Cool mate, I reckon I'll go for 3" as well, but I don't know what brand yet How does that sound? I basically want some noise but not stupidly intrusive when on the motorway etc
I'm not so keen on D90's any more, but haven't seen them on a Golf. But it's also your car

Where do i start!?!
At the begining of the year it looked like this and was featured in the January issue of Fast Car

I then sold the RH Cups and ran around on a mish mash 3 spoke Sport wheels and Cav slabs till my banded steels had been made

The banded steels were taking ages to be done, had a quick look on Edition 38. Found a proper bargain set of D90's with the quite rare 9" wide rears. So bought them up and fit them

Eventually the banded steels were done and rode around on them in black/silver combo

Then i changed the colour of the steels again...

Went to the show at Donington Park and ended up having a small photoshoot for an online car mag called Speed Hunters. And then it was time to try something different with a spare bonnet. This got me loads and loads of abuse. (which i don't want to start up again!)

Decidied there were too many colours going on so so did this with my wheels. The amount of people that liked them took me by surprise as i'd braced myself for the onslaught of abuse i'd received for the bonnet!

With the wheels done like that and attending a couple more shows throughout the year, Fast Car contacted me again and said they wanted to re-feature the van and have it on the cover, which it was in the October issue of the mag. I was also contacted from a German Mag called Opel Tuning who also wanted to feature it. These are some of the pics i got for it...

Then it was time for a major change. There were a few issues with the paint that i knew of and so did the bodyshop that did the work to the van, We brokered a deal to sort out the paint, but also do a different colour and few more smoothing bits. I kind of went off on a tangent, and chose a colour from Lada. Olive green was the colour of choice, but with a load of matting agent to make it satin/matt. I also (again!) changed the wheels to a set of BBS RM split rims in some crazy widths and offsets. Pics make the colour look like Shreck's!

Again i was contacted about another feature (my fifth with the van!). This time it was for an online mag called Yoco. This is one of the pics i got from the shoot (and probably my most favourite of it!). This pic shows the proper colour of it

And now i've sold it after a few personal problems at home Sorry for the massive essay!

Interesting year for me, carried my Corsa over from 2007:

Then end of January:

Meaning:

Never ran right so sold it cheap as chips.
Needed a car for work so bought this whilst I was waiting for my new car to be prepared by dealers:

What a beast
Then my new car was ready in March, nothing interesting though:

Tried keeping it standard, that didn't happen, have done various things and changed various bits but this is how it looks now:

Oh & about a month before that, I had yet another stroke of bad luck:

Caused by:

Meaning:

And new lower mileage engine was put in.
In July I decided I wanted another bike, so bought this as spur of the moment one Saturday, went that same day and had it home by midnight:

After various mods and mishaps, now looks this this:

So that's it for this year. For 2009 if things go smoothly I'll have a new car, and if all goes smoothly with insurance etc and I don't change my mind again (I'm worse than a women window shopping) then it'll be one of these:
